Red Dead Redemption 2 Looks Really Stunning, With The Visual Redemption Mod
With the latest downloadable mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, the game’s visuals are absolutely breathtaking thanks to tweaks to the game’s lighting, shadows, and more.
Among the many changes made by the Visual Redemption Project, which can be downloaded from its official website, are adjustments to the positioning of the Moon, enhancements to water reflections, fixes to the bloom render on lights, and improvements to shadow distance in all weather conditions.
Since the mod alters the lighting and mood of the base game, the creator created an optional Add-On that restores the game’s original visuals while adding new features like better shadows. The video below showcases this stunning visual makeover.
Since only the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 supports frame rates of 60 or higher, the Visual Redemption Project offers yet another incentive to play the game on the PC. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Rockstar’s open-world game are limited at 60 FPS due to an unreleased patch for current-gen platforms, though the Xbox console versions support native 4K resolution.
The lack of an official patch is not due to technical concerns, as evidenced by the release of an unofficial patch for the PlayStation 5 version of the game back in August.
The global release of Red Dead Redemption 2 has begun for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Read Alessio’s review to find out why this game is considered one of the best open-world games ever made.
